About Us
Dr. Rita’s Pharmacy and Supermarket started in Houston, Texas, as a community pharmacy, and later was established in Nigeria in 1998, as a one-stop super center, comprising of retail/community pharmacy and supermarket.
The pharmacy was borne out of the need to create a niche for providing genuine drugs to the Nigerian community. Hence our Motto is:
“Genuine Drugs can be sold to Genuine people by Genuine Methods”
Driven by this Motto, we strive to provide patient’s consultation and counseling as well as educate our patients properly on drug interaction. We believe that a well informed community, receive better treatment and hence become healthier people.
We engage our patients by asking relevant questions about previous and present medications they are taking, hence help them eliminate unwanted or duplicated medications. We also counsel our clients, carry out instant result tests before we recommend the appropriate medication for the particular disease state.
With an eye for convenience, Dr. Rita’s Pharmacy and Superstore is a one-stop super store, for all basic household needs. Hence, we have the following departments:

Dr. (Mrs.) Rita Ify Okafor
I’m a Clinical Pharmacist by profession, with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PHARM. D) from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, USA. I have a first degree in Biology from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos. I am currently registered pharmacist in both state of Texas in USA and Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.
I worked at Memorial Hermann Hospital at the Medical Center, Houston for 10 years which is the number one Trauma Hospital in Texas and indeed the whole world. I resigned and opened an Independent retail pharmacy in Houston called Dr. Rita’s Specialty Pharmacy which I ran and managed for 5 years. The urge to provide health care to my people made me to resign and return to Nigeria to start Dr. Rita’s Pharmacy & Medicals with two outlets in Victoria Island and Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
As a consultant pharmacist, I provide drug counseling to patients. I also have American Heart Association Certification License in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
